Spoken by several different voices, to a background of dance music:
I’m in Leeds, Yorkshire. Never knew I would be here, I love the place, I breathe the place.
Whenever I’m in doubt I know that the dance is gonna pull me through.
It’s completely uplifting, it’s welcoming and inclusive and you just have to look around you to see the result.
Stimulation of the mind, the body, of everything.
And it’s just good, cos its just… you can just wiggle your bum.
It’s really relaxing, it’s good exercise and it’s very sociable.
Well, not surprisingly, I’m here to dance.
The mind, the body and everything…. I’m here to dance….
It’s something that people can be taught, I mean I couldn’t be taught to paint but I can be taught to dance.
The mind, the body and everything…. I’m here to dance….
It’s not about what shape you’re in or how big you are, or how small you are or how tall you are, it’s all about freedom, expressing yourself to movement.
Just the whole thing of the music in your body and being able… it just makes you lighter. I really enjoy it.
I think it’s every young girl's dream to be a ballet dancer.
You just feel like you are part of this cultural movement, I think I’m part of something. People on the same wavelength, which is great all over the globe as well.
I think people dance to get away from norm…normal nine to five lives. There are so many people in the community who would do it, and young people who would do it because they want to show off this talent, this opportunity and that is what…dance creates that for them.
Spicing the souls I would call it.
