Description:
Recently described as "The North's best kept secret" by Mark Fisher in his book, Britain's best Museums and Galleries. Temple Newsam is a magnificent Tudor-Jacobean Mansion, set in 1200 acres of park land designed in the 18th century by Capability Brown. Temple Newsam is also noteworthy as the birth place of Lord Darnley, husband of Mary Queen of Scots.
