Description:
Based just outside York. Education programmes at Murton Park are designed to provide realistic
Living History experiences for adults and children both on site and in schools.
Murton Park now offers a Celtic Settlement, a Roman Fort, a Dark Age Village, Tudor Experience, the Home Front Experience and Farming Museum all of which are used as large classrooms.
Their interpretative staff cover a range of time periods from Romans to WWII all of which are linked closely to the National Curriculum.
Using the ancient philosophy
'I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand', the aim is to enable children to better understand the everyday lives of their ancestors
Listen to
