Some of Sheffield’s most treasured possessions are returning to their former home in the Graves Gallery - for a limited period only in 2008. Figures, animals, vases and other beautiful hand-carvings from the city’s unique collection of antique Chinese ivories will create a miniature world, rich in history, legend and myth. Dating as far back as the 16th Century, these delightful objects provide a fascinating window on Chinese culture and on Europe’s long-standing fascination with all things Oriental.
