We were contacted by Kay Vernon, whose father Tyssul ('Tuss') Griffiths played for Halifax in 1954 and she kindly sent us the photos on this page.
Tyssul Griffiths played rugby union for Wales and professional rugby league in the 1940s and '50s for Hunslet, Doncaster, Halifax, and Dewsbury.
He played fullback for Halifax in their 4-4 draw with Warrington in the 1954 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on 1 May 1954, and also their 4-18 defeat in the replay at Odsal Stadium, Bradford.
During his rugby league career Tuss Griffiths scored a total of over 1,000 points.
