Mary's Story: Sharing European Memories

Next Page

About Mary Todd

Mary Todd was interviewed by pupils from Castleton Primary School in Leeds, as part of the Sharing European Memories project, and related her experiences during the Second World War.

She told the children about working in the ambulance service, and making uniforms, about rationing and also about the time she sent her husband, who was in the army, a cake for their wedding anniversary - but unfortunately it was all in crumbs by the time he got to eat it!

You can watch some of the digital stories that the children made after interviewing Mary, by clicking on the Video link below.

The Castleton pupils also met five other interviewees: Ken, Marian, Mavis, Paddy and Stanley, and you can listen to their stories too, by clicking here.
