Land Army Girl is the story of Muriel Berzins who decided to join the Land Army instead of working in a munitions factory during the Second World War. Only 19 when she volunteered and a tiny girl at the time, Muriel tells of her experiences working on the farms, including the hard work of raking chaff from threshing machines and her fear or horses!
Muriel's story was recorded as part of the
Time on My Hands project which is recording memories of Holderness folk for the Hornsea Museum.
